Once 12 months have passed since registration or transfer, if the renewal is not completed, the domain expires and is no longer visible online.
When a domain is not renewed by its expiration date, a Deactivation Period may apply (this varies depending on the extension, or in some cases, may not be present), during which the domain can be reactivated at the renewal cost.
After the end of the Deactivation Period (with the exception of .eu, .cz, .pl, .mx domains, for which there is no Deactivation Period and the expiration date applies), a Redemption Period applies, during which the domain can still be reactivated at a cost of €100 + VAT.
Note: for .eu, .cz, .pl, .mx domains there is no Deactivation Period; in any case, once the days provided by the Redemption Period have elapsed, the domain becomes available again and can be registered by anyone.
