A winning partnership for developing an e-commerce support system

The team is responsible for designing and managing Cloud infrastructures and integrating DevOps tools and processes to modernize, speed up and automate software lifecycle, providing fully managed services from individual virtual machines to PaaS and SaaS platforms, also based on Kubernetes.
Amongst these, Reji Pay is a new system that combines the efficiency of a cash register with a versatile and easy-to-use e-commerce system. Reji Pay is an innovative system that allows any physical shop to expand its business easily and to reach new online customers. Newesis wanted to use this solution to set up a platform that was as easy as possible for its customers to use, suitable also for business users and those with no technical skills. The idea was to use fully automated processes to provide an integrated e-commerce web solution, using a specially designed backend and API, with the cash management software of the sales outlet. The system needed to be reliable, secure, fast and scalable over time, with the option to add resources gradually as required, without these having to be be provided and therefore paid for, in advance.
To meet these requirements, the best solution was chosen to be the construction of an infrastructure based on Cloud Pro, using the Aruba Business panel. A platform with Docker and Kubernetes, primarily based in Data Center IT3, located in Ponte San Pietro (BG), was built on this.
Having considered a number of cloud providers, Aruba was chosen due it being a company that is 100% Italian. In addition to technological reliability, security and power, one of the most tangible benefits was the possibility to have direct and continuous contact with the whole technical and sales team of Aruba Business. This is considered to be one of the most valued features of the Partner Program.
What's more, the possibility to use latest generation Italian data centers, represents an additional benefit given the type and geographical location of users.
The Reji Pay platform involves a high level of automation, thanks to the integration of the Newesis Infrastructure as Code and Deployment Automation solutions with Aruba Cloud services. Future projects include one to enhance this integration even further with the aim of continually improving the Managed Kubernetes Services and DevOps as a Service solutions.
